After three rounds of the 2011 Superstock 1000 FIM Cup with the Kawasaki GoEleven squad, Italian Niccolò Canepa has opted to switch teams and race for Ducati Lazio Motorsport. The move comes just a couple of days after his best result of the season, a fifth place at Misano.

The 23 year-old from Genoa, who won the Superstock 1000 title in 2007 and who had one Superbike round to his name the following year at Brno with Ducati Xerox, will now be back on a twin-cylinder Ducati machine this weekend at Aragon and for the rest of the season.

"I'm very happy to be racing again with Ducati" declared Canepa. "I've done a lot of racing for them, I've always had a good feeling with their bikes and I'm sure now that, with the help of the Lazio MotorSport team, I'll be able to score some good results. I can't wait to get back on track at Aragon!"

Canepa currently lies sixth in the table with 24 points, 46 behind leader Davide Giugliano (Ducati Althea) and 29 behind second-placed Danilo Petrucci (Ducati Barni Racing).
